Havana: At midnight yesterday, October 22, 3 thousand 489 patients are admitted to health institutions for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 2 thousand 349 under surveillance, 690 suspects, and 450 confirmed according to data provided by the website of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba.
7,107 samples were studied for COVID-19, resulting in 58 positive samples. The country accumulates 777 thousand 247 samples made and 6 thousand 479 positive (0.83%).
The 58 cases diagnosed are Cuban and autochthonous, 57 were contacts of confirmed cases and one without a specified source of infection. 15 are female and 43 male. 67.2% (39) of the positive cases were asymptomatic.
The cases correspond to Pinar del Río 29, Artemisa 19 cases, Sancti Spíritus 7, Ciego de Ávila 3.
Of the 6,479 patients diagnosed with the disease, 450 (6.9%), 445 (98.8%) with stable clinical evolution remain confirmed. 128 deaths are reported (none in the day), two evacuated, 28 discharges of the day, 5 thousand 899 recovered patients accumulate (91.0%), two patients are reported in critical condition and three are seriously ill.
Until October 22, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 41 million 299 thousand 301 (+443 thousand 041) and 1 million 132 thousand 500 deaths (+6 thousand 744) for a fatality of 2 , 74 (-0.01).
In the region of the Americas, 19 million 238 thousand 368 confirmed cases (+134 thousand 439) are reported, 46.58% of the total cases reported in the world, with 617 thousand 762 deaths (+3 thousand 136) for a fatality of 3.21% (-0.01).
