Havana, Cuba: While the country maintains its battle against COVID-19 in territories where the intensity of the transmission is greater, it also evaluates the impact of the passage of tropical storm Eta whose heavy rains affected during the last hours, the central region, part of the east and Pinar del Río, Radio Rebelde publishes.
When meeting as every Tuesday, through a videoconference, the Temporary Working Group that updates the epidemiological situation at the national level, led by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, exchanged with government authorities of the territories where Eta has made its mark.
In Villa Clara the meteorological phenomenon affected Manicaragua, Placetas and Santa Clara more strongly. The reservoirs of the territory accumulated 56 million cubic meters in 24 hours, while more than 22 thousand people had to be protected.
