Havana, Cuba: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, will participate today in the Extraordinary Meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Ibero-American Conference.
According to a note from the Foreign Ministry, the appointment will be held virtually under the slogan “Innovation for the Sustainable Development – 2030 Goal. Ibero-America Facing the Coronavirus Challenge”.
As part of the representation of the Caribbean nation, there is also the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ana Teresita González, who is responsible for the cooperation programs in the organization.
According to the site of the XXVII Ibero-American Summit 2020, the foreign ministers will address issues discussed in preparatory exchanges, where they highlight the need for joint action to combat the serious health, economic and social consequences of Covid-19.
“The declaration of the meeting is expected to reflect the urgency of offering a global and coordinated response to the current crisis, so that the recovery is inclusive, sustainable and resilient”, she adds.
During the pandemic, Cuba has defended these positions in different international settings and cooperates directly in confronting the disease by sending medical brigades.
