Chile: Floods, landslides, evacuations, electricity cuts and rains that have not been registered in Santiago for more than a century and a half is the balance left by a frontal system that began on Friday and that will be felt in the center of Chile, Radio Rebelde reports.
“It is a rather unusual frontal system for this time of year”, Chilean Interior Minister Rodrigo Delgado said referring to the fact that in central Chile it hardly rains during this time.
According to the latest data from the National Emergency Office of the Ministry of the Interior and Public Security (ONEMI), there are 149 affected people, 189 sheltered and more than 1,500 asylees, as well as 2 destroyed homes, 16 with greater damage and 84 under evaluation.
