Venezuela: The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated his government’s willingness to establish an open and inclusive political dialogue with the US administration of Joe Biden, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
At a press conference from the Miraflores Palace (headquarters of the Executive), the Venezuelan president rejected that the will to understand is interpreted as a gesture of weakness; “enough dignity and courage have already been shown in the positions of the Bolivarian Revolution”, he said.
The head of state asserted that Venezuela continues to wait for how President Biden will handle the foreign policy of the United States with respect to Latin America and the Caribbean.
In this regard, Maduro said that he expects good sense and rectification by the US political power in the face of the violent and hostile stance adopted by the Donald Trump administration against the South American country.
“We are in the position of an open and inclusive dialogue to seek coexistence”, the dignitary stressed, underlining that in any process of rapprochement between both nations, the principle of respect for sovereignty and self-determination must prevail.
