Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Friday 12 deaths and 1,446 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 106,000 707 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 21 thousand 736 patients were admitted, of them 3 thousand 983 suspects, 12 thousand 349 in epidemiological surveillance and 5 thousand 404 confirmed.
Durán explained that the country carried out 22 thousand 451 samples the day before for a cumulative of 3 million 631 thousand 470 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1,446 patients, 394 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 986 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 36 have a source of infection abroad and in 24 people the source of infection is unknown and 10 thousand are autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 503 are male and 543 female. Regarding the age groups, 184 patients under 19 years of age were diagnosed, 9 under one year of age and 840 remain active hospitalized. In the ages of 19 to 39 years, 308 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 358 cases and 196 people over 60 years of age.

The specialist specified that, of the 106 thousand 707 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 5 thousand 404 remain admitted, of them 5 thousand 329 with stable clinical evolution. 644 deaths are reported (12 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.60. The two evacuees remain, 54 returnees and 100,000 603 recovered patients accumulate (973 discharges of the day). 35 patients in critical condition and 40 patients in serious condition are reported.
