Cuba: The member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, participated in a meeting of the Provincial Council of Government of People’s Power in Artemisa, Radio Rebelde publishes.

Among the topics that were analyzed were the progress of the food security and nutritional education plan, the attention given by the administration to the proposals made by the voters, and the behavior of the industrial and local development programs.

Regarding this last aspect, Prime Minister Marrero Cruz reflected on the need to speed up alternatives aimed at enhancing the production of food for the population, from local reserves and with the activation of productive poles in times of international financial crisis due to the effects of COVID-19.

It was known that Artemisa produces more than 100 tons of several products in the different mini-industries that operate in the province.

Regarding compliance with the 30 pounds per capita for crops, it was specified that Bauta, Bahía Honda and Candelaria are the municipalities that have the lowest delivery figures.

Artemisa has 74 livestock modules and the Grain Institute provides varieties that are highly resistant to the climate, of which 15 in the case of rice are already grown in Artemisa.

Headed by Governor Ricardo Concepción Rodríguez, the meeting was also attended by Gladys Martínez Verdecia, a member of the Political Bureau and first secretary of the Party in Artemisa.
