Havana: Cuban health authorities notified 7,950 new people infected with SARS-CoV-2, the cause of Covid-19, and 77 deaths in the last hours due to complications from the disease, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
In this way, the Caribbean nation accumulates 466,169 patients diagnosed with the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, and 3,515 fatalities.
In his daily appearance, Dr. Francisco Durán García, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), pointed out that the nation woke up with 103,209 admitted: 51,998 suspects, 4,465 in surveillance, and 46,746 confirmed (active cases).
Of the 7,950 confirmed cases, 7,932 are autochthonous and 18 are imported. Similarly, 7 919 (99.6%) were contact of confirmed cases, a total of 455 252 (97.7%), 18 (0.2%) with a source of infection abroad, 10 554 (2.3%) and 13 (0.2 %) without a specified source of infection, accumulating 363 (0.1%).

There are 3 515 deaths (77 in the day), fatality of 0.75% vs 2.12% in the world and 2.58% in the Americas; two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, on the day there were 8,418 discharges, 415 thousand 852 recovered patients accumulate (89.2%). 474 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, of them 166 critical and 308 severe.
Until August 08, 190 countries and 32 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, amounting to 203 million 364 thousand 13 confirmed cases (+ 559 thousand 789) with 16 million 397 thousand 978 active cases and 4 million 305 thousand 887 deaths (+ 9,218) for a fatality of 2.12% (=).
