Washington: The National Hurricane Center of the United States reported today that the meteorological phenomenon located in the Caribbean shows a slow movement in its trajectory.
According to the report broadcast at 11:00 (local time), it was located at latitude 16.3 north and 63.8 west longitude, heading west-northwest at 30 kilometers per hour and sustained winds of 55.
Hours earlier, in the summary issued by this entity at 08:00 (local time), the atmospheric phenomenon was at latitude 16.0 North, longitude 63.1 West.
On the forecast trajectory, it is expected to pass close by the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico this afternoon, and by night it will be over Hispaniola.
Wednesday could be near the southeast of the Bahamas and Thursday in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
It is expected to gradually strengthen and become a tropical storm tonight, but it may weaken as it passes through the island of Hispaniola.
