Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported 68 deaths on Tuesday and 9,772 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a accumulated of 536 thousand 609 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 97 thousand 76 patients were admitted, of them 48 thousand 254 suspects, 4 thousand 668 in epidemiological surveillance and 44 thousand 158 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 41 thousand 23 samples the day before for a cumulative 7 million 244 thousand 102 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 9,772 patients, 373 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 9,748 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 8 have a source of infection abroad and in 16 people the source of contagion is unknown and 9,764 were autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 4,561 are male and 5,211 female. Regarding the age groups, 2,23 were diagnosed under the age of 18, and 1,912 were diagnosed in pediatric ages (147 under one year of age). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 2,641 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 3,101 cases and 2 thousand 7 people older than 60 years.
