Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Wednesday 40 deaths and 3 thousand 596 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 904 1,010 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 50 thousand 581 patients were admitted, of them 26 thousand 955 suspects, 2 thousand 742 in epidemiological surveillance and 20 thousand 884 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 38 thousand 66 samples the day before for an accumulated of 9 million 803 thousand 339 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 3 thousand 596 patients, 183 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 3 thousand 570 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 24 have a source of infection abroad and in 2 people the source of contagion is unknown, 3 thousand 572 were autochthonous.
Regarding the age groups, 669 children under 18 years of age were diagnosed, and 639 in pediatric ages (37 under one year). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 867 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years, thousand 183 cases and 877 people older than 60 years.
He specified that, of the 904 thousand 108 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 20 thousand 884 of them remain confirmed, 21 thousand 967 with stable clinical evolution. 7,703 deaths are reported (40 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.85. The two evacuees remain, 55 returnees and 875 thousand 464 recovered patients accumulate (4 thousand 965 discharges of the day). 113 patients in critical condition and 236 patients in serious condition are reported.
