Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Thursday 19 deaths and 1,435 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 941 thousand 562 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 20,165 patients were admitted, of them 11,898 suspects, 1,875 in epidemiological surveillance and 6,692 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 27 thousand 35 samples yesterday for a cumulative of 10 million 274 thousand 903 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1,435 patients, 112 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 1,430 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 2 have a source of infection abroad and in three people the source of contagion is unknown.
Of the total confirmed, 674 are male and 761 female. Regarding the age groups, 316 were diagnosed under 18 years of age, and 305 in pediatric ages. In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 307 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 466 cases and 346 people older than 60 years.
He specified that, of the 941 thousand 562 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 6 thousand 392 confirmed hospitalizations of them 6 thousand 205 with stable clinical evolution. 8,133 deaths are reported (19 in the last day), for a fatality of 0.86. The two evacuees remain, 55 returnees and 926,980 recovered patients accumulate (2, thousand 11 discharges of the day). 71 patients in critical condition and 116 patients in serious condition are reported.
