Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Monday nine deaths and 1,110 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 946 thousand 960 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 17,174 patients were admitted, of them 9,593 suspects, 1,890 in epidemiological surveillance and 5,761 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 24,780 samples the day before for a cumulative 10,385,213 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1,110 patients, 160 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 1,119 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 9 have a source of infection abroad and in two people the source of infection is unknown.
Of the total cases confirmed, 563 are male and 647 female. Regarding the age groups, 224 were diagnosed under 18 years of age, and 227 in pediatric ages (21 under one year). In the ages 20 to 39 years, 265 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 411 cases and 310 people older than 60 years.
He specified that, of the 946 thousand 960 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 5 thousand 761 confirmed hospitalizations of them 5 thousand 621 with stable clinical evolution remain. 8,191 deaths are reported (nine in the last day), for a fatality of 0.86. The two evacuees remain, 55 returnees and 932,951 recovered patients (1,117 daily discharges) accumulate. 49 patients in critical condition and 91 patients in serious condition are reported.
