Cuba retoma trasportación nacional ante control de la Covid-19.

Havana: Cuba will gradually restart interprovincial passenger transportation as of today, amid a favorable scenario for the control of Covid-19 and the advancement of vaccination against that disease in the country, Prensa Latina publishes.

Since October 25, tickets have been marketed in the sector agencies for buses and trains, as well as the maritime services between Havana and the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud.

According to the Ministry of Transportation, the railways resume operations with a frequency every four days from Havana (west) to the eastern provinces of Santiago de Cuba, Holguín, Guantánamo and Bayamo-Manzanillo, and vice versa.

The National Bus Company, for its part, forsees 58 daily departures between Havana and the provincial capitals, as well as between these and some provincial municipalities and the capital, while the opening of national air transportation will depend on the technical conditions of aircraft.

Cuba gradually resumes economic and service activities since the second half of October, and will open its borders on November 15 to reactivate tourist activity, in a complex economic context due to the crisis aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic, and the tightening of the American siege.

The opening of the domestic tourism market will also begin gradually, in accordance with the epidemiological indicators of each territory. (BSH)
