Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Friday four deaths and 846 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 950 thousand 613 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, according to Radio Habana Cuba.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 13 thousand 32 patients were admitted, of them 6 thousand 925 suspects, 1,729 in epidemiological surveillance and 4 thousand 378 confirmed cases.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 24,426 samples the day before for a cumulative 10,473 thousand 689 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 846 patients, 123 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 846 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 18 have a source of infection abroad and in two people the source of infection is unknown.
Of the total confirmed, 425 are male and 441 female. Regarding the age groups, 158 under 18 years of age were diagnosed, and 137 in pediatric ages (12 under one year). In the ages 20 to 39 years, 235 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 256 cases and 217 people older than 60 years.
He specified that, of the 950 thousand 613 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 4 thousand 378 of them remain confirmed, 4 thousand 262 with stable clinical evolution. 8,223 deaths are reported (four in the last day), for a fatality of 0.86. The two evacuees remain, 55 returnees and 937 thousand 955 recovered patients accumulate (one thousand 123 discharges of the day). 46 patients in critical condition and 70 patients in serious condition are reported.
