Mayabeque, Cuba: With a planting plan of 600 hectares for the cold stage, the 2021-2022 rice campaign of the Mayabeque Agroindustrial Grain Company officially began.
They are currently preparing the areas in the province to achieve success in the contest that has the general purpose of planting 4,901 hectares.
For this they have divided the territory into two productive zones. The number one zone is Nave Blanca and San Nicolás, which are the most productive regions. Zone two includes the municipalities of Güines, Melena del Sur and Batabanó.
20 producers of the province were selected to lead the work and as a whole will guarantee 80 percent of compliance with the plan.
The rice growers of Mayabeque expect to contribute 6,200 tons of the grain for consumption in the 2021-2022 season.
