Mayabeque, Cuba: In the province of Mayabeque, the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine will begin.
The director of Public Health in the territory, Doctor Luis Armando Wong, specified that they will begin with workers in the health sector, tourism, some transporters and risk groups.
“It is a safety measure, since six months after the last dose it is necessary to apply the booster to raise the immune system,” Wong said.
For the clinical trials at Mayabeque they will use Soberana Plus, Abdala and a small group will receive Mambisa.
The province carries out scientific research, sponsored by the Finlay Vaccine Institute, for the use of these immunogens in the population and their efficacy.
