Cuba warns of threats from the current international situation.

Havana, Cuba: The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, warned this Wednesday that it is an indisputable reality that humanity is facing a complex and unpredictable international scenario, shaken by a multidimensional crisis, the consequence of a prolonged and unjust global order.

According to Radio Havana Cuba, during a video message at the international conference for the 20th anniversary of the United Russia Party, the Cuban president specified that the meeting was more than a necessity, an urgency in the current situation.

Similarly, Díaz-Canel said that this panorama, together with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, exacerbate the problems and challenges that the world was already facing.

He denounced that, at the same time, the international community is witnessing a new aggressive escalation by the United States and its allies, determined to impose their global hegemony, with an increase in military spending, a growing threat to peace and the resurgence of actions and languages of the so-called Cold War and fascism.

“The struggle for domination and control of the planet’s natural resources is shifting, in all its harshness, towards other dimensions of virtual space, while the enormous polarization in the distribution of wealth, social inequality and global instability continues deepening”, the Cuban leader expressed.

He expressed that the economic, social and financial crisis, which hits the least developed countries and the disadvantaged majorities more severely, is reproducing itself, extending inequalities and poverty.

Díaz-Canel drew attention to the increase in uncontrolled migration flows, international terrorism, and regional and international conflicts.

“Language loaded with threats, policy of sanctions and unilateral coercive measures, open-minded interference and double standards are imposed, without the slightest scruples”, he said.

The president rejected the manipulation of facts based on lies and half-truths and the use of hybrid technologies in the so-called fourth generation wars for destabilization and the application of regime change policies.

He pointed out that actions of this type have become common practice in international relations and emphasized that like Cuba, Russia has been a victim of these acts and knows the dangers they entail.

“It is pertinent and necessary here to vigorously reject interference in the internal affairs of Russia and other states. Those acts that threaten independence and national sovereignty and violate international law and the Charter of the United Nations must cease, said the president.

He warned that in this context, ultra-nationalist, radical and fascist forces reappear that, far from providing solutions to social problems, are festering old ethnic-national divisions and exacerbating xenophobia and intolerance.

According to Díaz-Canel, the world is in urgent need of a new civilized coexistence, based on an international, just and equitable order, where solidarity, cooperation and integration between countries prevail.

“There is not, nor will there be, another way to achieve peace and there will be no peace without development and social justice. It is time now that we all join forces and actions in the urgent and necessary fight for a better world”, he stressed.
