Cuba: The president of the National Assembly of Cuba (parliament), Esteban Lazo, today convened the eighth regular session of the IX Legislature, to be held on December 21 in the Caribbean nation.
According to information published on the website of the parliament, the Havana Convention Center will host the meeting among the members of the Cuban legislature from 9:00 local time.
The highest representative of the National Assembly summoned deputies, bodies of the Central State Administration and other corresponding bodies and authorities of the country.
Among the topics to be debated in the ordinary session will be three draft laws, related to the military courts, the Military Criminal Process and the Territorial and Urban Planning and Land Management.
The Constitution of the Republic of Cuba establishes that the parliament meets in two ordinary periods of sessions a year, as well as in extraordinary session, when called by the Council of State or requested by a third of its members.
