Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Thursday 81 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative 963 thousand 428 positive since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Havana publishes Cuba.
At midnight yesterday, December 8, 3,004 patients were admitted, 2,427 suspects, 176 under surveillance and 401 confirmed active.
For COVID-19, a total of 19 thousand 719 samples were made for surveillance during the day, 81 being positive. The country accumulates 11 million 269 thousand 893 samples taken and 963 thousand 428 positive.
Of the total cases (81): 72 were contacts of confirmed cases; 7 with a source of infection abroad; 2 without a specified source of infection. Of the 81 cases diagnosed, 49 were female and 32 male.
23.5% (19) of the 81 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 132 thousand 723, which represents 13.8% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 81 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (12), from 20 to 39 years old (14), from 40 to 59 years old (36), 60 and over (19).
Of the 963 thousand 428 patients diagnosed with the disease, 401 remain hospitalized, of them 388 with stable clinical evolution. 8,311 deaths accumulate (0 in the day), fatality of 0.86% vs 1.98% in the world and 2.41% in the Americas; two evacuees, 55 returned to their countries, on the day there were 87 discharges, 954 thousand 659 recovered patients accumulate (99.0%). 13 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 7 of them critical and 6 seriously ill.
No deceased patients were reported on the day.
Until December 08, 191 countries and 32 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, it amounts to 268 million 48 thousand 208 confirmed cases (+ 809 thousand 5) with 21 million 498 thousand 731 active cases and 5 million 294 thousand 251 deaths ( + 9,562) for a fatality of 1.98% (=).
