Havana: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported 65 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated 963 thousand 493 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
At midnight yesterday, December 9, 3,004 patients were admitted, 2,453 suspects, 167 under surveillance and 384 confirmed active.
For COVID-19, a total of 20 thousand 081 samples were made for surveillance during the day, 65 being positive. The country accumulates 11 million 289 thousand 974 samples made and 963 thousand 493 positive.
Of the total cases (65): 59 were contacts of confirmed cases; 5 with a source of infection abroad; 1 without a specified source of infection. Of the 65 diagnosed cases, 29 were female and 36 male.
30.7% (20) of the 65 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 132 thousand 743, which represents 13.8% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 65 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years (7), 20 to 39 years (16), 40 to 59 years (24), 60 and over (18).
Of the 963 thousand 493 patients diagnosed with the disease, 384 remain hospitalized, of them 369 with stable clinical evolution. 8,311 deaths accumulate (0 in the day), fatality of 0.86% vs 1.97% in the world and 2.41% in the Americas; two evacuees, 55 returned to their countries, on the day there were 82 discharges, 954 thousand 741 recovered patients accumulate (99.1%). 15 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 8 of them critical and 7 severe.
No deceased patients were reported on the day.
Until December 09, 191 countries and 32 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 268 million 532 thousand 580 (+ 484 thousand 372) with 21 million 627 thousand 230 active cases and 5 million 300 thousand 111 deaths (+ 5 thousand 860) for a fatality of 1.97% (-0.01).
In the Americas region, 99 million 404 thousand 597 confirmed cases (+ 101 thousand 646) are reported, 37.02% of the total cases reported in the world, with 11 million 61 thousand 623 active cases and 2 million 392 thousand 935 deaths (+ 1,131) for a fatality of 2.41% (=).
