CD México: At least 17 people were injured during the clashes between a migrant’s caravan and the police this Sunday in Mexico City, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
According to local media, the crash occurred after foreigners were prevented from passing while they were moving along a segment of the Mexico-Puebla highway, in the direction of the Basilica of Guadalupe.
Central American and Haitian migrants, many of them with children, were urged to go to a shelter in the Iztapalapa district. However, they rejected the proposal and apparently became violent throwing stones and other blunt objects, to which members of the Secretariat for Citizen Security responded with pepper spray. Among the injured are 13 uniformed men and four civilians.
