Havana, Cuba: At midnight yesterday, December 12, 2,663 patients were admitted, 2,034 suspects, 292 under surveillance and 337 confirmed assets, the official website of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba publishes.
For COVID-19, a total of 17 thousand 506 samples were made for surveillance during the day, 65 being positive. The country accumulates 11 million 346 thousand 153 samples taken and 963 thousand 693 positive.
Of the total cases (65): 60 were contacts of confirmed cases; 1 with a source of infection abroad; 4 without a specified source of infection. Of the 65 diagnosed cases, 35 were female and 30 male.
23.1% (15) of the 62 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 132 thousand 796, which represents 13.8% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 65 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years (11), 20 to 39 years (16), 40 to 59 years (14), 60 and over (24).

Of the 963 thousand 693 patients diagnosed with the disease, 337 remain hospitalized, of them 321 with stable clinical evolution. 8,313 deaths accumulate (0 in the day), fatality of 0.86% vs 1.97% in the world and 2.40% in the Americas; Two evacuees, 55 returned to their countries, on the day there were 59 discharges, 954 thousand 986 recovered patients accumulate (99.1%). 16 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 8 of them critical and 8 severe.
No deceased patients were reported on the day.
Until December 12, 191 countries and 32 territories with cases of COVID-19 are reported, it amounts to 270 million 411 thousand 314 confirmed cases (+ 467 thousand 0) with 22 million 7 thousand 101 active cases and 5 million 321 thousand 716 deaths ( + 4 thousand 669) for a fatality of 1.97% (=).
