Mayabeque, Cuba: The direction of agriculture in Batabanó produces more food for the people, defying the challenges imposed by the current economic context and the pandemic.
As explained by its director Arsenio García Díaz, at the end of the month of November of this year, of an annual plan of 56,975 hectares to be sown, there is a real of 50 thousand 492, for 88.6 percent of different crops of viands, vegetables , fruits and grains with a yield of 11.8 per hectare.
In the current cold season, out of 374 hectares of potatoes planned, they already planted 165, with about 135 labeled, 27 in preparation and 36 already ready to continue planting.
On how this process is going, García Díaz declared that they have all the seed and hope to finish in mid-January 2022.
He added that they comply with the milk delivery plan, both for social consumption and for the industry, in addition to its sale released in two popular councils of the municipality.
He said they foresee this week the sale of beef to the population, as part of the 63 measures implemented to boost food production.
