Latin America: The Pan American Health Organization celebrates the inclusion in the list for emergency use of the recombinant vaccine against Covid-19 Vaxzevria, produced jointly by Argentina and Mexico, Prensa Latina reports.
The entity’s Director, Carissa F. Etienne, declared that this is an important milestone for Latin America and highlights the importance of technology transfer to increase the availability of quality drugs in the region.
The decision made by the World Health Organization comes as the pandemic enters its third consecutive year and the Americas see a steady increase in cases of SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes Covid-19.
