Mayabeque, Cuba: The union functioning and the implementation of measures to strengthen the Socialist State Enterprise were among the topics analyzed in the balance of the industries union in Mayabeque, carried out in Refractarios Habana, the only entity of its kind in the country, located in the municipality of Guines.
The main interventions dealt with the import substitution program, productive chai, the role of the new economic actors through micro, small and medium-sized companies and the implementation of alternatives to increase production with efficiency and quality.
The representatives of the union sections and directors of the branch in the province advocated for boosting the economy in the face of the scarcity of raw materials and the global crisis, taking advantage of reserves, managing investments, controlling resources and using scientific potential and innovation.
At the center of these issues, the union is the protagonist to be at the side of the workers and mobilize them.
The member of the national secretariat of industrial workers, Yaquelin Barrios Torres, recognized the work of Mayabeque. She highlighted among the potentialities and priorities the substitution of imports, the increase in exports and the saving of resources.
The Labor Hero of the Republic of Cuba, Norlan Saldivar Pérez, exchanged with the general secretary of the industries union in the province, Isabel Ortiz, about the challenges of the sector.
In the balance Norlan acknowledged that the relief is guaranteed to take on important projects and boost the national economy. At the closing they highlighted his contributions to union work.
The Non-agricultural Raw Materials Cooperative, the Raw Materials Recovery Company, the Vitral Paints Base Business Unit, the Adastor Mayabeque Division Base Business Unit and the trade union section of the Havana Refractory Company were recognized among the outstanding entities of the industries union in Mayabeque.
