Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Ministry of Public Health reported this Friday 626 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative of 1 million 068 thousand 148 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
At midnight yesterday, February 24, a total of 8 thousand 195 patients are admitted, 5 thousand 553 suspects in surveillance 56 and confirmed active 2 thousand 586.
For COVID-19, a total of 13,533 samples were taken for surveillance on the day, with 626 being positive for 4.6% positivity. The country accumulates 13 million 052 thousand 757 samples carried out and 1 million 068 thousand 148 positives (8.2%).
Of the total cases (626): 604 were contacts of confirmed cases, 14 with a source of infection abroad and 8 without a specified source of infection. Of the 626 diagnosed cases, 369 were female and 257 male.
6.4% (40) of the 626 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 145,022, which represents 13.5% of those confirmed to date.
Of the 626 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (139), 20 to 39 years old (165), 40 to 59 years old (189), 60 and over (133).
Of the million 068 thousand 148 patients diagnosed with the disease, 2 thousand 586 remain hospitalized, of them 2 thousand 554 with stable clinical evolution. There are 8,494 deaths (0 on the day), a lethality of 0.80% vs 1.38% in the world and 1.78% in the Americas; two evacuated and 57 returned to their countries. On the day there were 646 discharges, accumulated 1 million 057 thousand 009 recovered patients (98.9%). 32 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, 7 of them critical and 25 seriously ill.
As of February 24, 192 countries and 32 territories have been reported with cases of COVID-19, amounting to 431 million 716 confirmed cases (+ 1 million 946 thousand 415) with 65 million 287 thousand 23 active cases and 5 million 940 thousand 747 deaths (+ 11 thousand 368) for a lethality of 1.38% (-0.01).
In the region of the Americas, 148 million 295 thousand 158 confirmed cases (+ 338 thousand 338) are reported, 34.41% of the total cases reported in the world, with 31 million 767 thousand 767 active cases and 2 million 645 thousand 636 deceased (+ 5 thousand 426) for a lethality of 1.78% (-0.01).
