According to local authorities, these works, located on the Paseo de los Presidentes in the Plaza de la República in the city of Río Gallegos, capital of the southern province of Santa Cruz, were destroyed and demolished this morning.
According to a statement from the authorities, some of the statues, such as that of the current vice president, had to be removed for extensive repairs.
