Cuba Reports 25 New Positive Cases to Covid-19

Havana: At midnight yesterday, July 31, 459 patients are admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance. Another 3,331 are monitored in primary health care, the official site of the Ministry of Public Health reports.

For COVID-19, 3 thousand 502 samples were studied, resulting in 25 positive samples. The country accumulates 267 thousand 649 samples and 2 thousand 633 positive (0.98%).

Of the 25 diagnosed cases, 24 are Cuban (96%). Of these, 16 (62.5%) were contacts of confirmed cases, in one (4.1%) the source of infection is not specified, seven (28%) have a source of infection abroad and a foreigner is diagnosed ( 4%).

Of the 25 confirmed cases, 15 (60%) were women, and ten (40%) were men. The affected age groups were: under 20 years with two cases (8%), from 20 to 39 years six cases (24%) from 40 to 60 years five cases (20%) and over 60 years12 (48%) . 60% (15) of the diagnosed cases were asymptomatic.

Artemisa: 7 cases of Bauta municipality

Mayabeque: 1 case (Santa Cruz del Norte)

Havana: 12 cases (Playa 2, Plaza de la Revolución 2, Arroyo Naranjo 2,

Marianao 2, Habana del Este 2, La Lisa 2)

Sancti Spíritus: 1 case (Cabaiguán)

Granma: 1 case (Bayamo)

Santiago de Cuba 2 cases (Santiago de Cuba)

Guantánamo: 1 case (Guantánamo)

Of the 2,633 patients diagnosed with the disease, 177 (6.7%) remain admitted, 176 99.4% present stable clinical evolution. 87 deaths are reported (none of the day), two evacuees and 2,367 recovered patients (90%) (12 discharge of the day). A patient in a stable critical condition is reported.

Until July 31, 185 countries with cases of COVID-19 are reported, amounting to 17 million 296 thousand 303 confirmed cases (+ 289 thousand 624) and 673 thousand 290 deaths (+ 6 thousand 426) for a lethality of 3.89 (- 0.03).

In the region of the Americas, 9 million 338 thousand 314 confirmed cases are reported (+ 168 thousand 707), 53.99 of the total cases reported in the world, with 355 thousand 582 deaths (+ 4 thousand 191) for a lethality of 3.80 ( -0.03).
