Mayabeque, Cuba: The Provincial Health Directorate in Mayabeque carries out activities for the World Breastfeeding Day, from August 1 to 7.
Health hearings and group dynamics are being held in the 11 municipalities of the province to reinforce the importance of its use in reducing infant mortality, said the head of the provincial maternal and child section, Dr. Beatriz Ribero Falcón.
She also spoke about the importance of breastfeeding for the child and for the mother, since the baby receives the necessary nutrients for better growth and development, provides security, confidence, protects from chronic cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
There is no industrial milk that replaces breast milk, since none contains all the antibodies in it, so it is recommended that it be exclusive in the first six months of life.
