Cuba Reports 59 New Positive Cases to Covid-19

Havana: At midnight yesterday, August 30, 1,141 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 35 under surveillance, 548 suspects and 558 confirmed, according to the official website of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health.

For COVID-19, 5 thousand 438 samples were studied, resulting in 59 positive samples. The country accumulates 398 thousand 223 samples carried out and 4 thousand 032 positive (1.01%).

The 59 diagnosed cases are Cuban, of them 47 were contacts of confirmed cases, 11 without a specified source of infection and one with a source of infection abroad, 34 are male and 25 are female. 59.3% (35) were asymptomatic, accumulating 2,344, representing 58.1% of those confirmed to date.

Artemisa (15 cases)

? 7 of San Cristóbal and 6 from Alquízar , San Antonio de Los Baños and Mariel with 1 each.

Havana (40 cases)

? Arroyo Naranjo 12, Boyeros 7, Plaza de La Revolución 5, Habana del Este 6, La Lisa and Diez de Octubre with 3 cases each, Centro Habana 2, Cerro and Marianao with 1 case each.

Mayabeque (1 imported case)

? 1 of the Madruga municipality.

Matanzas (1 case)

? 1 from the Cárdenas municipality

Ciego de Ávila (2 cases)

? 2 from the Majagua municipality.

Of the 4,032 patients diagnosed with the disease, 558 (13.8%) remain confirmed, 536, 96.1% with stable clinical evolution. 94 deaths are reported (none in the day), two evacuated, 51 discharges of the day, 3 thousand 378 recovered patients accumulate (84%). Eight patients in critical condition and 14 in serious condition are reported.

Until August 30, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 25 million 029 thousand 408 (+ 269 thousand 279) and 843 thousand 158 deaths (+ 5 thousand 579) for a fatality of 3.36 % (-0.02).

The region of the Americas region reports 13 million 307 thousand 641 confirmed cases (+133 thousand 193), 53.16% of the total cases reported in the world, with 466 thousand 006 deaths (+ 3 thousand 565) for a fatality of 3, 50% (-0.01).
