Cuba reports 61 samples positive for Covid-19.

Havana: At midnight this Tuesday, Cuba reported 61 new cases of COVID-19, for a total of 4,126 since March; three deaths and 63 medical discharges, Dr. Francisco Durán García, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), reported this Wednesday at a press conference, Cubadebate publishes.

Durán specified that 1,206 people remain admitted for clinical-epidemiological surveillance: 28 in surveillance, 61 suspected and 568 confirmed. Of those 568 confirmed admitted, 546 maintain a stable clinical course (96.1%).

During Tuesday’s session, 5,546 samples were studied in all the molecular biology laboratories of the country, from all the provinces, for a cumulative 408,727 tests carried out since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of confirmed cases since March 11 is 4,126.

60 of the confirmed cases this Tuesday correspond to Cubans, and one is a foreigner. 51 (83.6%) are contacts of previously confirmed cases (since March, 90.4% of all diagnosed). In 10 of those diagnosed, the source of infection could not be confirmed and in the last 15 days, 28 have been accumulated with this condition.

Of the confirmed cases, none are imported, thus adding up to 363 cases with a source of infection abroad since March, 24 correspond to males and 37 to females, while 34 (55.7%) were asymptomatic at time of being diagnosed.

By age group, yesterday 11 patients under 20 years of age were diagnosed; 22 corresponded to the group of 20 to 39 years; 20 to 40 to 59 years and 8 people in the range of 60 and over.

All the cases are autochthonous: Havana (46), Artemisa (7), Ciego de Ávila (6), Pinar del Río (2).

With yesterday’s 63 medical discharges, 3,458 patients (84%) have recovered since March.

By reporting three deaths this Tuesday, Cuba accumulates a total of 98 deaths from COVID-19 since March, for a fatality of 2.37%, below that of the world (3.35%) and the Americas (3.47) %)

Five patients are reported as critical and 17 as serious.

? 1 from the Mariel municipality, 4 from the San Cristóbal municipality and 2 from the Candelaria municipality

? Diez de Octubre 10, La Lisa 6, Arroyo Naranjo 6, Boyeros 5, Plaza de la Revolución 4, Cerro 3, Habana del Este 3, Centro Habana 3, Rule 2, Centro Haban 3, Old Havana, Cotorro, Marianao and Playa with 1 each.

Ciego de Ávila (6 cases)

? 4 from the Ciego de Ávila municipality, 1 from the Majagua municipality, 1 from the Venezuela municipality.

Until September 1, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 25 million 509 thousand 135 (+257 thousand 105) and 850 thousand 902 deaths (+4 thousand 054) for a fatality of 3.33 % (-0.02).

In the region of the Americas region, 13 million 508 thousand 242 confirmed cases (+111 thousand 590) are reported, 52.95% of the total cases reported in the world, with 469 thousand 897 deaths (+2 thousand 130) for a fatality of 3.47% (-0.02).
