The Prime Minister of Cuba, Manuel Marrero, begins his speech with an explanation of the context in which Cuba is going on the path to a new normality.

The digital version of the Granma newspaper expresses that he reiterates the characteristics of the transmission phases until reaching the third phase, which is when the productive activity and services are almost completely restored.

The new normality, he says, implies this reestablishment through the application of a new code and lifestyle, under strict epidemiological monitoring.

The road to the new normality includes the application of measures that are transversal to all phases of the recovery stage, he says.

Of the initial plan for the post-COVID-19 recovery stage, which included 220 measures,128 remain, 57 were modified, 63 were added and 53 are eliminated. The updated Plan proposal adds 190 measures, it reports.

THE USE OF THE NASOBUCO OR MASK IS MANDATORY IN ALL PHASES

The Prime Minister adds that, even though the initial Plan included that the nasobuco was not mandatory in phase 3, now that has changed. It has been decided that the use of masks is MANDATORY in all public spaces, especially closed ones.

NO ONE WITH SYMPTOMS LIKE COVID-19 CAN ATTEND WORK CENTERS OR SCHOOLS

The entry of people with respiratory symptoms to workplaces and schools is still prohibited.

That measure is reinforced, which means that those with symptoms similar or that appear similar to those of COVID-19 cannot attend work centers.

Among those symptoms, so varied, are: fever, respiratory difficulties, nasal congestion, coryza, recent changes in taste or smell, lack of appetite, diarrhea, etc.

HAND DISINFECTION REMAINS A MANDATORY REQUIREMENT

The measure of disinfection of the hands is mandatory.

TEMPORARY WORKING GROUP WILL SESSION TUESDAY AND FRIDAY TO FOLLOW COVID-19

One of the new decisions is that the government’s temporary working group to monitor COVID-19 will no longer meet daily, Marrero Cruz explains.

He also warns that this does not mean that the issue will be stopped, but that other types of government activities will be resumed and the follow-up meeting will be Tuesday and Friday.
