Scientific projects materialize national food sustainability strategy with more science.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Achieving food sustainability is the main objective of two projects coordinated by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA), in the capital of Mayabeque.

One of these programs, sponsored by the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences, is the Local Agricultural Innovation Project, which prioritizes among its lines of work the training of producers through workshops on raising livestock, good agro-ecological practices, among other topics.

In their gender axis they also contribute to the involvement of women in agricultural work and its preparation in areas such as the preservation of food and dry condiments.

Another project is the Program for Local Development, an initiative with which the necessary resources are provided to encourage their productions to mini-industries in the territory such as Mayi and the dry seasonings.

These initiatives involve six scientific centers in the province, with recognized national and international prestige, due to the results of the investigations that contribute to agricultural and livestock development.
