Granma: At the initiative of the Granma province and as part of the XX Fiesta de la Cubanía, at 8:00 this morning in all work centers the National Anthem was sung, 152 years after the popular premiere of its lyrics in Bayamo, Radio Reloj publishes.

That event is evoked today in the National Anthem Square, where it took place on October 20, 1868 when the Mambisa forces led by Céspedes entered Bayamo, the first Cuban city liberated from Spanish colonialism.

The reissue includes the interpretation of the National Anthem by the Municipal Concert Band, the songs La Bayamesa from Céspedes, Fornaris and del Castillo, and Mujer bayamesa, written by Sindo Garay.

Fernando Muñoz, director of the remembrance, highlighted the great significance of this anniversary at a time when Cuba contains the Covid-19 pandemic and faces the empire’s media campaigns.
