Mayabeque, Cuba: El Recanto Commerce Unit, in Jaruco, is transformed into the Plaza Commercial El Agricultor, and should open its doors to citizens this year.
It is a local development project approved by the municipal government at the proposal of the farmer Eliecer Marrero Romos, from the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) Rómulo Padrón.
The idea is to create a space with the ideal conditions to provide the people with food, fruit and vegetables of first quality, the Head of the Development Section in the Municipal Administration, Michel Núñez Rabre, said.
This local development project includes a juicer and guarapera and the commercialization of pork, lamb and other small livestock.
At this time, constructive actions are being undertaken in the place to create three sales areas, one for packaging, as well as the warehouse and the administrative one, while the setting for cultural activities will be maintained.
El Agricultor Commercial Square, located in the most central part of Jaruco, ??will be supplied basically with the productions of the Malverde farm of the farmer Marrero Romo himself, which is located in the Castilla settlement of the Tumba Cuatro Popular Council.
Products from other local production forms that meet the quality standards required in the regulations conceived for this project will also be sold.
The Malverde farm, which has four caballerias, has its own irrigation system, various crops, small livestock and a micro-dam that will be used for aquaculture with the support of the Agrarian University of Havana (UNAH) Fructuoso Rodríguez.
These conditions give sustainability to an idea that is called to encourage other entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector of Jaruco.
