Mayabeque, Cuba: The National Center for Biopreparations (BIOCEN), located in the Bejucal municipality, has an analytical platform for specialized trials aimed at the release of medicines and national productions, provided with high quality standards and committed to the compliance that govern the provisions of the Cuban Standard ISO 17025: 2017.

This platform made it possible to fill the financing deficit of companies in the purchase of reagents, materials, equipment, as well as the execution of new investments and the contracting of tests abroad to guarantee the highest quality, according to the newspaper Granma newspaper.

According to the director of Quality Control of the entity belonging to the BioCubaFarma Business Group, the Master of Science Isabel Rojas Gattorno, the technical support offered by the institution, together with the interaction and collaboration with the drug manufacturers, made it possible to contract of studies and the adequate control of the entire life cycle of a product.

BIOCEN, Isabel Rojas highlighted, also endorsed the efficient performance of the final manufacturing process of several highly demanded drugs for the treatment of COVID-19 in the country.

Included in the list are: Heberón, Hebertrans, Jusvinza, Biomodulin T, various blood products, and sodium chloride serum, as well as guaranteeing the evaluation of new products involved in various clinical trial protocols.

Until the end of September, the number of tests carried out with the support of this center amounted to 80,691, he said.
