Cuba: The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and the President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, received the former president of Brazil, comrade Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is visiting our country, Radio Rebelde publishes.
In a fraternal atmosphere, the top Cuban leaders and the Honorary President of the Workers’ Party discussed the historical brotherhood relations between the two peoples and parties.
Lula thanked the Cuban people for their solidarity in demanding his full freedom and condemned the intensification of the blockade and the incorporation of Cuba into the List of Countries Sponsoring Terrorism by the government of President Donald Trump.
Likewise, he ratified the recognition for the humanitarian work carried out by Cuban doctors in Brazil and praised the help that Cuban professionals currently offer to other nations of the world.
Present at the meeting were Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla. The Brazilian journalist, politician and writer Fernando Gomes de Morais also attended.
