Work meeting with members of the Council of Ministers and authorities of Ciego de Ávila.

Ciego de Ávila, Cuba: The regression of this province today, to the epidemic stage and phase of limited autochthonous transmission, corresponds to irregularities and a breach of the protocols established to stop Covid-19, Prensa Latina publishes.

That was announced the day before during the working meeting with members of the Council of Ministers and authorities of Ciego de Ávila, headed by the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister, Roberto Morales Ojeda, highlighted, among the deficiencies detected, the delay in the isolation of suspects and contacts and the low effectiveness of active investigations, mainly with vulnerable groups.

He also pointed out the low perception of risk existing in the population and in the family, as well as in state institutions, including those of health and non-compliance with the isolation of travelers.

In this regard, the Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero, specified that widespread indiscipline and violations of hygienic-sanitary measures in health centers are among the main causes of the current outbreak of Covid-19 in Ciego de Ávila.

“An effective work system is required to ensure compliance with the provisions in order to curb the pandemic,” he said.

The territory accumulates 219 infected with Covid-19 in the last 15 days, distributed in all its municipalities, although with the highest incidence rate are Morón, Ciego de Ávila and Majagua.
