Mayabeque, Cuba: The Cuban Workers´ Federation (CTC bu its Spanish initials) is the protagonist of important efforts to boost the country’s economy in times of pandemic.
Considering the situation on the island and worldwide, the collaboration of workers is significant in productive tasks, as well as in sectors that contribute to the substitution of imports and to the linkage between various branches.
According to the head of the Emulation Department at the National CTC, Ania Álvarez, in agricultural plantations in Mayabeque where the potato harvest takes place, the main tasks of the union highlights.
“The contribution of the workers and the trade union movement from that force that mobilizes towards the country’s economy is important, especially in productive tasks in favor of import substitution?, Álvarez said.
Mayabeque collaborates in this sense with massive volunteer work in potato harvesting, as it is one of the provinces with the greatest contribution to the Cuban capital.
