Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Tuesday nine deaths and one thousand 60 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 88 thousand 445 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 24 thousand 705 patients were admitted, of them 3 thousand 845 suspects, 16 thousand 034 in epidemiological surveillance and 4 thousand 826 confirmed.
Durán explained that the country carried out 21,399 samples the day before for a cumulative 3 million 256 thousand 543 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1,060 patients, 448 were asymptomatic at the time of the diagnosis, 1,400 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 18 have a source of infection abroad and in 38 people the source of contagion is unknown, 1 042 are autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 517 are male and 543 female. Regarding the age groups, 177 patients were diagnosed under 19 years of age and 166 pediatric ages (10 under one year). There are still active hospitalized 731. In the ages of 19 to 39 years 341 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 352 cases and 190 people over 60 years.
