Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of Cuba, Francisco Durán, reported this Sunday that in the last hours, a thousand 37 new infections with Covid-19 were reported, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
Durán in his daily press conference specified that 13 people died as a result of this disease.
He explained that Cuba woke up this Sunday with 25,312 admitted patients, 3,855 suspects, 16,562 under surveillance and 4,895 confirmed (active cases).
Meanwhile, the total number of deaths from Covid-19 totals 525 and the number of infected since March 2020 has risen to 93,511, Duran said.
During the day on Saturday, 22,088 samples were processed in the molecular biology laboratories of the country.
Of the total confirmed cases: 1019 are of autochthonous transmission and 18 are imported. 95.8% of the new cases were contacted by others already confirmed, 541 (52.2%) female and 496 (47.8%) male. 38% (397 people) of the cases are asymptomatic.
By age groups, under 20 years old: 159 of them 145 in pediatric ages; patients aged 20 to 39 years: 328; patients aged 40 to 59: 366 and aged 60 and over 184.

Of the 93 thousand 511 patients diagnosed with the disease, 4 thousand 895 remain hospitalized, of which 4 thousand 832 with stable clinical evolution. 525 deaths accumulate (thirteen in the day), lethality of 0.56%; two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, on the day there were 974 discharges, 88 thousand 035 recovered patients accumulated (94.1%). 63 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, of which 31 are critical and 32 are seriously ill.
Until April 17, 190 countries and 29 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 141 million 41 thousand 989 (+ 742 thousand 56) with 18 million 229 thousand 417 active cases and 3 million 17 thousand 890 deaths (+11,436) for a fatality of 2.14.
In the region of the Americas, 60 million 452 thousand 950 confirmed cases are reported (+ 224 thousand 492), 42.86% of the total cases reported in the world, with 9 million 284 thousand 439 active cases and 1 million 461 thousand 468 deaths (+ 5 thousand 476) for a fatality of 2.42.
