Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Thursday 12 deaths and 1,120 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative 97,000 967 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at the close of yesterday 23,393 patients were admitted, of them 3,558 suspects, 14,533 in epidemiological surveillance and 5,302 confirmed.
Durán explained that the country carried out 21,830 samples the day before for a cumulative of 3,450,918 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1 207 patients, 563 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 1,152 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 24 have a source of infection abroad and in 31 people the source of contagion is unknown and one thousand 183 are autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 573 are male and 629 female. Regarding the age groups, 146 patients were diagnosed under 19 years of age and 132 pediatric ages (3 under one year). There are still active hospitalized 804. In the ages of 19 to 39 years, 432 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 400 cases and 229 people older than 60 years.

He specified that, of the 97 thousand 967 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 5 thousand 302 of them remain confirmed, 5 thousand 61 with stable clinical evolution. 559 deaths are reported (12 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.57. The two evacuees remain, 54 returnees and 92 thousand 50 recovered patients accumulate (one thousand 16 discharges of the day). 27 patients in critical condition and 43 patients in serious condition are reported.
