Successful harvest of the self-supply module in the Jaruco mining entity.

Mayabeque, Cuba: The Base Business Unit, Gustavo Machín, belonging to the Empresa Minera Occidente, harvests the products of the self-supply module prepared less than a year ago.

After delimiting the land with a solid perimeter fence, a small group of workers prepared the land, planted and gave cultural attention to several rows of bananas, sweet potatoes, corn, pumpkins and other vegetables that are already served in the remodeled workers’ dining room of the entity.

According to the director of the mining entity, Elier Lacher Abascar, the group assumed agri-food self-sufficiency, convinced that this is a fundamental task for the attention of the workers, without neglecting the expansion and remodeling work of the plants located in the Popular Council Tumba Cuatro of Jaruco and that of Loma de Candela in Güines.

The Base Business Unit, Gustavo Machín Hoed, processes magnesite, bentonite, calcium carbonate and high-demand construction materials in key sectors of the economy such as agriculture, construction, the steel industry and the Housing Program.
