Mayabeque, Cuba: At the Liliana Dimitrova Horticultural Research Institute in Mayabeque, scientists carry out 16 projects that will benefit the advancement of agriculture in the country.

Included in the plan of activities to greet the 50th anniversary of the creation of this scientific center located in Quivicán, among the most significant is the development of cultivars of varieties of tomatoes resistant to pests.

According to its general director, the Master in Biological Sciences Alicia de la Caridad Fernández Miranda, they also develop others this year aimed at obtaining various types of Eggplant, pepper, another aimed at good agricultural practices in tomato cultivation and development of fresh condiments.
