Chucho Valdés, acclaimed pianist from Mayabeque.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Cuban saxophonist César López dedicated his most recent production to the acclaimed pianist from Mayabeque, Chucho Valdés.

The artist noted in the CD’s record notes: To the great Chucho Valdés, forever in my heart: ?I dedicate this phonogram to him and to Irakere. I just hope you enjoy it as much, as we too did?.

The authorship of the songs and the musical production were carried out by López, while for the arrangements he relied on the musicians Joaquín Betancourt and Jorge Aragón Jr.

For this occasion, the jazz player was accompanied as guests by the percussionist Yaroldy Abreu, the saxophonist Germán Velazco, the drummer Ruy Adrian López-Nussa and the flutist Orlando Valle ?Maraca?, among other renowned instrumentalists of the Island.

López, considered one of the main exponents of Latin jazz, performed in prestigious international venues and shared stages with figures such as Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Michel Camilo and Gladys Knight.

The delivery, entitled César López and Habana Ensemble Jazz Band, proposes through its nine songs a journey through genres of Cuban music such as son, danzón, cha, cha, chá, mambo and bolero.
