Health intervention in Cuba.

Mayabeque, Cuba: San José de las Lajas is getting ready for the health intervention to the population against COVID-19, to be carried out during this month of July.

Currently, work is being done on the material and organizational conditioning of the 52 clinical sites and the 62 vaccination centers, distributed in all the Popular Councils of the capital of Mayabeque.

The personnel that work in each institution selected for the sanitary intervention, together with those of the sponsor center, beautify the premises, guarantee the electrical and water service and install sinks to maintain the hygiene of the health professionals.

During this preparatory period with a view to complying with the vaccination program, they train doctors, nurses, students of Medical Sciences and Hygiene and Epidemiology specialists who are explained how the vaccines will work and what the flow of patients and care should be for them.

According to the Master of Science Carlos Alberto Valdés Valladares, Head of the Secretariat in the Municipal Health Directorate in San José de las Lajas and Coordinator of the health intervention to the population, the four polyclinics that the territory has: the Reinaldo García located in the town of San Antonio de las Vegas, Mártires 9 de Abril in Tapaste, Santiago Rafael Ezecharreta and Turcios Lima, the latter located in the urban area, already have refrigerators and refrigerators to store vaccines and thus maintain the chain cold established.

In the health intervention to the population, to be carried out in this month of July, the members of the political and mass organizations of the community also have a leading role, they supported the doctors of the primary care health areas in the conformation of the lists by ages and conditions.

The vaccination program against COVID-19, which will take place soon in San José de las Lajas, will also be a materialized dream of the population that respects and trusts the development of Cuban science and biotechnology.
