Mayabeque, Cuba: The Ministry of Agriculture has recorded damages in more than a thousand hectares of crops in Mayabeque and Matanzas, the two provinces with the greatest losses in the sector due to the passage of tropical storm Elsa, the Cuban News Agency reports.
The director of the agency’s management position, Fernando Velasco Betancourt, explained to the national press that the damage continues to be evaluated through tours of different areas of the country.
The crops suffered partial deterioration and now work is being done to collect what was affected so that, depending on the quality, it can be sent to the markets or for animal feed, Velasco Betancourt said.
