Mayabeque, Cuba: The specialists in charge of the Maternal and Child Care Program (PAMI), of the municipality of Quivicán, carry out intense work to protect the health of pregnant women in these times of Covid-19.
Monitoring this risk group is vital, given their condition and the need for them to comply with all measures to avoid contagion.
For this reason, they receive the help of the mass organizations of the territory, especially for their transfer.
According to Dr. Yolanda Gutiérrez, they have the support of the government to bring pregnant women to carry out complementary tests and ultrasounds. Quivicán reports to date 12 pregnant women and a baby diagnosed with Covid-19, who are monitored by family doctors who visit these homes weekly to find out their health status.
