Havana, Cuba: The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, alerted the North American authorities of provocative plans that, from that country, intend to organize naval means to arrive today in an area contiguous with the Island.
?We have learned that a flotilla is being prepared from the United States to Cuba. I warn the United States Government to act seriously to avoid incidents that are not in the best interest of either party?, he said at a press conference the day before.
Rodríguez asserted that anti-Cuban organizations based in the state of Florida, with the support and encouragement of government authorities of that state, are orchestrating this journey for this Friday, which he described as a provocation.
In his intervention, the Minister of Foreign Relations rejected Washington’s statements and accusations as an act of gross interference in Havana’s internal affairs, aimed at violating international law and its own laws.
The United States does not have the moral authority to claim Cuba in matters of human rights, he said in response to sanctions from that country against the Minister of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, Álvaro López Miera, and the Special Brigade of the Ministry of the Interior.
Washington announced on Thursday new measures against those island officials by alleging abuses against protesters, after the riots of July 11 last.
In that sense, the Cuban Foreign Minister denied the US President, Joe Biden, and called on him to mention alleged disappearances after the violent incidents reported the previous week.
At the same time, he called on the northern authorities to identify alleged minors imprisoned for such events, as claimed by US officials and politicians, as well as interested media.
“The headline reaffirmed his country’s denunciation of the effects of the extreme manipulation of digital networks and the improper conduct of technological platforms,” ??largely controlled by the neighboring country, he said. (IVP)
